About Me & Contact
Hi I’m Paul “Pie” Ingram
I’m originally from the UK but now live in Helsinki, Finland and hike and travel all over the world. pieonthetrail.com is a website dedicated to Ultralight Backpacking, Thru-Hiking and Gear Reviews, three things dear to my heart.
In 2015 I completed a Thru-Hike of the 2189 mile Appalachian Trail. This website was originally a place to share my adventure with friends and family, it’s grown a lot since then. I hiked the Annapurna Circuit, Nepal in 2016 and in November of 2017 I finished a Thru-Hike of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT). A journey of over 2700 miles in four and a half months.
My most recent trip was a 400 + mile hike through the High Sierra in California. I tackled three off trail routes and one trail, The Kings Canyon High Basin Route, The Southern Sierra High Route, Steve Ropers’ Sierra High Route and the High Sierra Trail.
Ultralight Backpacking and Thru-Hiking plays a very important part in my life and I love talking about it. I’ve learnt so much in over 500 miles of hiking and I want to share that knowledge here. Hiking gear guides and reviews, backpacking skills tutorials and ultralight backpacking gear lists and trip reports. All of that can be found by navigating through the menus above.
I look forward to sharing my adventures with you and hope to inspire more people to break out of their comfort zones and live adventurously. If you have any questions then reach out to me using the contact form below and I’d love it if you entered your email address in the signup area at the bottom of the page so I can connect with you through my email list.
