HI I’m Pie!

At pieonthetrail.com I share articles on Long Distance Hiking, Adventurous Travel and Gear Reviews.

On the 15th of September 2015 I completed a Thru-Hike of the 2189 mile Appalachian Trail. This website was originally a place to share my adventure with friends and family, it’s grown a lot since then. In November of 2017 I finished a thru hike of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) after hiking 2700 miles in four and half months.

Travel is a huge part of my life, I’ve been lucky enough to be travelling periodically for the last five years, visiting 42 countries and all seven continents. I look forward to sharing my adventures with you and hope to inspire more people to break out of their comfort zones and live adventurously.

I’d love it if you entered your email address at the bottom of this page so that I connect with you through my email subscribers list.

Thanks for stopping by,

Any reason why you picked a tent over a hammock? Personal preference?

    1. PIE

Hi. Yes personal preference, many people were using hammocks on the trail and loved them, I even a slept in a friends once or twice. I plan on playing around with them in the future, do you use one? What do you think?
